do it again

Jay would shoot the same scene over and over. And over. He would revisit locations with fresh eyes looking for something unique in that moment in time. Subtleties. Nuances. Seasonal changes. Times of day.

At a talk given by Jay Maisel he was asked what he enjoyed about being a commercial photographer. He explained that no matter how lousy his day went, at the end, there was always a beautiful sunset. And I am sure he meant even the rainy, overcast days as well.

Here is wishing you beautiful sunsets

i am a big fan

I was showing my daughter an old antique fan recently. It reminded me when I was young how I could change the sound voice by speaking into to the fan blades. It produced an eerie sound with a slight bit of vibrato.

Kids of the future might not have that option – but their lips will be probably safer.

Enter James Dyson of vacuum cleaner fame. He has developed a fan with no blades – the Dyson Air Multiplier™. It draws in air and amplifies

testimonials

The Dyson Air Multiplier™ fan works very differently to conventional fans. It uses Air Multiplier™ technology to draw in air and amplify it 15 times, producing an uninterrupted stream of smooth air. With no blades or grill, it’s safe, easy to clean and doesn’t cause unpleasant buffeting.

How it works

Air is accelerated through an annular aperture. This creates a jet of air that passes over a 16° airfoil-shaped ramp, channeling its direction.

Other advantages

No blades means the Dyson Air Multiplier™ fan is safe and easy to clean. It also has touch-tilt, 90° oscillation and dimmer-switch power control.
